RHS Football vs. Kalama – Week 2

Your RHS football team had it’s home opener last Friday against Kalama.  The boys were extremely physical, especially the offensive line in dominating the Chinooks.  Senior RB Nathan Eggleston has another fine night gaining 140 yards on the ground behind his impressive offensive line (Noah Couch, Jack McGinely, Lane Andersen, Logan Black, Jesse Dobson, Cody Duncan and Cade Morrill).  Junior TE Cade Morrill had an impressive game receiving passes from Senior QB Jonah Roberts, taking down 3 passes for almost 100 yards.

The RHS defense was lead by Sophomore LB Jalen Williams with some hard hitting tackles.  Senior CB Bill Martin recovered a fumble that was caused by Junior WR Taylor Nolan on special teams that set up the RHS offense with a short field.  Another impressive win by your RHS boys and a great lead into league play this week at Washougal.

Spudder Nation Auction

The Ridgefield High School Spudder Nation Auction will be held September 20th at Three Brothers Winery from 6 to-9pm. Tickets are $20, and this will get you a great BBQ dinner, live band, silent & live auction opportunities and a great night supporting our RHS Football Team.

RHS Football @ Castle Rock – Week 1

Our RHS football team traveled to Castle Rock last Friday night and picked up a tough fought win 34-6.  It was a very physical battle, but our boys won that battle.  Offensively senior quarterback, Jonah Roberts, threw three touchdown passes.  One of those receiving touchdown passes were senior fullback Noah Couch with a catch over the middle on short yardage and then again on a screen play.  Senior David Causey also caught a long ball in the first half to score and put RHS in control of the game.  Running the ball into the end zone were seniors Nathan Eggleston and Cody Duncan.  All of these plays were made possible by the awesome line play up front for the Spudders.

The defense was lead by junior Nick Thomas with many great stops and an interception to stop the Rocket offense.  The defense played very well as a team with many individuals stepping up to keep the Castle Rock offense to very few yards on the ground or through the air.  Special teams were lead by junior Tommy Herz with some wonderful returns off punts and kick offs, while making some great tackles on punt and kick off teams.

Overall a very good start to the 2014 football season – Expect To Win!

Congrats to Samantha Rice

Advertise in RHS Football Program

Here’s a chance to advertise your business in the RHS football program. This is a great way to get your name out in the community (football is big in Ridgefield) and support the high school football program.

Let Dan Anderson, our new football coach tell you about it:

“As many of you know, I am now the head football coach at Ridgefield High School.  We started daily doubles yesterday and we are really looking forward to moving up to the 2A Greater St. Helens League and the challenges it will provide.  We will be printing a 15-20 page professional, glossy program that will be distributed at all of our home games this year.  It will be the quality you see at college games.

“We are currently selling advertising for this program at the rates of $150 for 1/4 page, $195 for 1/2 page and $295 for a full page.  As you can imagine, I also have received many requests for advertising through the years with the construction company and winery – so I am only asking to advertise in this program if it fits your advertising budget and plan.  You would just need to submit a camera ready JPG (high def if possible) along with the check to RHS Football Boosters.  With our season starting in the next couple of weeks, we need to get these in as soon as possible.”

Dan Andersen, P.E. Cell 503-702-5549

This is a good chance to show community spirit!
