City Council Position Opens

The City of Ridgefield has announced the vacancy of a City Council position and is accepting applications to fill the vacant position. The position will be vacant effective October 1, 2018 because John Main resigned his position to move to Idaho with his family.

State law provides that City Council “shall appoint a qualified person to fill the vacant position.” Therefore, the City has begun a recruitment and selection process for appointment. The timeline for filling the Council vacancy is as follows:

September 14, 2018: Application packets due to the City Clerk by 5 pm.

October 4, 2018: Candidate interviews.

October 11, 2018: New Council member swearing-in.

To be eligible to serve on the City Council, applicants must be registered to vote in Ridgefield and have resided within the city limits for a minimum of one year.
