April’s First Saturday event, April 2, celebrates Earth Day. Get your environmental game on at this earth-embracing event. Learn to compost, garden responsibly, watch Earth Day short films, and be a part of saving the planet for the next generation and beyond – all in a fun and celebratory fashion, of course!

Here’s the schedule:

9:00am – Trail Walk thru Abrams Park, guided by Tailored Fitness

10:00am – SHRED IT!! Have confidential documents shredded for free @ the View Ridge Middle School parking lot

10:00am – 3:00pm – Overlook Park Festivities:

Farmer’s Market featuring additional local farmers

Ridgefield Art Association with interactive activities

Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge

Kids Craft Activity – make your own mini-garden to take home

5-Minute Films on environmental and saving-the-world topics

Earth Day Themed Scavenger Hunt

Make an Environmental Pledge Station

Noon-  Beer and Wine Garden Opens at Overlook Park

2:00pm – The Zaniac – Alex Zerbe, master of physical comedy, juggling & magic at The Old Liberty Theater
