Initiative 1631

Don Steinke is planning to gather signatures for Initiative 1631 this Saturday at the Ridgefield Farmers Market. He’s looking for one or two assistants at 9 am and one or two assistants at noon. In Don’s words, “the most important thing we can do in the next six weeks to fight climate change is to get Initiative 1631 on the ballot.” Initiative 1631 will place a fee on the pollution from refineries and on power plants and use the funds to invest in clean energy projects such as wind and solar.

If you, or someone you know is able to help, notify Don at crVanWash@gmail.com or 360-903-3052.

He’s collected 1300 signatures so far and statewide over 60,000 people have signed the petition.

The job is easy.  All you need to do is hold the sign that’s provided and ask people if they have signed yet.
