Meaningful Movies

This month’s Meaningful Movie is ‘Blood Road.’ It follow the journey of ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier.

The movie will be shown at the Old Liberty Theater, 115 North Main Avenue in downtown Ridgefield., on Wednesday, March 27. Doors open at 6:30 with refreshments for sale, previews at 6:45 and film at 7:00. The film is free, but donations are welcomed.

A moderated post-film community discussion will feature Chris Thobaben (Major USMCR), Bryan Laycoe (Naval Medical Officer, Pearl Harbor 1973-75, past Commander, Post 44 American Legion, Ridgefield) and Terry Wolf (Naval Aviator, A-4 Skyhawk, Vietnam, 1972-75)
