Newest Free Library

The newest neighborhood free library in Ridgefield is on Riverview Drive. Built almost entirely from recycled materials, it echoes the style of the house and outbuildings where it resides. A kitchen cabinet from The Rebuilding Center forms the core of the library and all the exterior materials were reclaimed from old barns in Hockinson. The treated lumber post and plexiglass window are the only new purchased parts. The focus for this library will be childrens’ books on the lower shelf and adult books on the top shelf.

There are other free libraries scattered around Ridgefield. Have you found them? The idea is to take a book and eventually replace it with another one.
