Stratford, Conn. – A Bridgeport man was arrested after allegedly displaying a firearm during a road rage incident on Merritt Parkway in Stratford, according to Connecticut State Police.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred on Thursday at around 3:44 p.m. on Route 15 South near Exit 52. A driver contacted Troop G State Police, reporting that another motorist had displayed a firearm during a heated road rage confrontation.
According to the victim’s statement, the situation escalated after both drivers were stuck in traffic for nearly 30 minutes. The suspect, driving a white Kia, allegedly cut off the victim multiple times, leading to a confrontation where the suspect is said to have displayed a firearm.
Arrest and Evidence Found
State police tracked the suspect’s vehicle through its registration records, which led them to the home of Steven Moore, 35, of Bridgeport.
When troopers arrived at Moore’s residence, he admitted to driving the Kia at the time of the incident. Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered a loaded Glock handgun with a loaded magazine, which was seized as evidence.
Moore was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Threatening with a Firearm in the First Degree
- Breach of Peace in the Second Degree
Bond and Court Date
Following his arrest, Moore was released on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 6 to face the charges.
