(The Central Square) – The US Department of Homeland Security has launched a multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning foreign nationals living illegally in the United States to “leave now” or face deportation and never be able to return.
The advertisements are broadcast on radio, television, and digital platforms across the country and around the world. They are available in specific geographic regions of the United States as well as in a number of other countries and dialects. They are also distributed via social media, text messages, and other digital channels, according to the DHS.
In a domestic advertisement, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem states:
“President Trump has a clear message for those who are in our country illegally: leave now.
“If you don’t, we’ll find and deport you. You will not return.
“Weak politicians have allowed our borders to remain open for far too long. They inundated our communities with human trafficking and violent criminals. They endangered American lives.
“Well, those days are over. If you leave now, you may have the opportunity to return and enjoy our freedom while living the American Dream. However, understand this: under President Trump, America’s borders are closed to lawbreakers.
“Follow the law, and you will find opportunities. Break it, and you’ll face the consequences. The choice is yours. “America welcomes those who follow our laws because a strong nation is a safe nation.”
The advertisement depicts mugshots of criminal illegal foreign nationals, hundreds of people illegally crossing the Rio Grande River into the United States, trampling razor wire and climbing over barriers, flashing police lights, and the US border wall.
In an international advertisement, Noem states:
“I have a message from President Trump to the world: if you are thinking about entering America illegally, don’t do it.
“Let me be clear: if you come to our country and violate our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome in the U.S.
“Under President Trump, we are protecting American families and restoring their safety. If you attempt to enter illegally, you will be apprehended, removed, and never return.”
The advertisements are airing after an aggressive deportation campaign began and illegal border crossings decreased in Trump’s first month in office.
In the first ten days of his presidency, apprehensions between ports of entry at the southwest border fell by 85%, while the number of inadmissible illegal border crossers arriving at ports of entry fell by 93%, according to The Center Square.
ICE agents are tracking down some of the most violent offenders from coast to coast. According to The Center Square, in Seattle, they stopped a Mexican human smuggling operation out of Canada and apprehended public safety threats from China and Kazakhstan.
According to The Center Square, police in Boston are still arresting violent illegal border crossers, including gang members, sex offenders, murderers, and fugitives wanted in their home countries.
In Texas, police continue to arrest violent gang and cartel members, as well as felons. The Center Square reported that recent arrests include a Gulf Cartel member and leader of a sicario cell, as well as Tren de Aragua gang members, including a suspected shooter in an attempted murder investigation in San Antonio.
Other arrestees include Mexican drug traffickers convicted of aggravated assault, confirmed MS-13 gang members convicted of felony fraud and felony weapons charges, and several previously deported offenders.
DHS and ICE are implementing numerous executive orders issued by Trump on his first day in office to secure the border following his declaration of a national emergency and invasion, according to The Center Square.
