PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died Thursday evening in Vancouver after being struck by a car while crossing the street against a red light, police said.
The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard and 117th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian had been hit while crossing during a red light. He was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries, according to authorities.
Police reported that the driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.
No additional details have been released at this time.
This marks Vancouver’s 14th traffic-related fatality in 2024.
